Sugar Gliders

     Great question to ask about the sugar glider's food.  They are omnivores, which mean that they eat both meat and plants.  Their absolute favorite is meal worms followed by wax worms.  They hold them in their hands and look like they are eating bananas.  They also eat oranges, apples, bread, and chicken.  There are some cereals that they enjoy too.  They have eaten Cheerios, Mini-Wheats, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.  For a treat they love yogurt.  However, they can only have yogurt every couple of days.  I also have sugar glider food which looks quite a bit like bunny food.  (If you know what that looks like.)

THAT was a close one.

     I almost didn't have a snake!  She escaped...YIKES!!! We looked and looked and couldn't locate her. We finally gave up and went to sleep.  I woke up at 3am and felt like I should look in the closet. Guess what? She was there!  I love it when God does cool things to remind us that we are loved.

Welcome to 5th grade! Here are some of our friends.

      This is Toby.  He is a box turtle that I found in the middle of the road on my way to Lithia Marina.  We will be letting him go back home soon, but I wanted you to get a chance to meet him.  What color of eyes do male box turtles have?

        This is one of the Sugar Glider, Joey.  Her name is Joey because baby sugar gliders are called that.  Do you know what other animal is called a Joey?

     This is the other sugar glider.   Her name is Zoey, and she is a bit timid. 

     Sugar gliders are nocturnal, so they sleep during the day.  They will only be in the room on visits.







 

     This is Daisy and Prince.  Yertle is hiding somewhere.  My guess is under the hollow rock.  It is one of his favorite hiding places.

     Finally, this is _______________.  She doesn't have a name yet.  I asked some of my friends, and they offered suggestions.  What do you think we should name her.  The names that I like are Fluffy and Eve.  Why do you think those would be names that we might give her?

       Well, I am working hard to get everything ready for your first day.  I can't wait for school to start.
